In Memory of Carolyn Stiffler

STIFFLER, Carolyn, 75, passed away on March 25th, 2023, at her home. Born on July 6th, 1947, in Dayton, Ohio, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Conley and Marie Jewell.

Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her life was dedicated to serving others, as evidenced by her years of service as a Hospice CNA and later as an ordained minister and teacher at Victory Hill All Gospel Church. Carolyn’s unrelenting honesty, unwavering strength, contagious sense of humor, and deep faith were a beacon of hope and inspiration to all who knew her.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Connie Jewell, and her beloved pets, Samantha, Herbie, and Cricket.

She is survived by her loving husband and hunk of butter Samuel Stiffler of Trotwood, her brother Larry Jewell of Indiana, and her children; son Mark Disher (Frances) of Dayton, step-daughter Tammy Stiffler of Tennessee, step-son Tim Stiffler of Tennessee, and step-daughter Tara Valladares of Trotwood. She also leaves behind seven cherished grandchildren, Timothy Stiffler-Dean (Leah), Staci Baker (Brad), Austin Baker, Davion Metcalf, Dariana Metcalf, Messiahh Hurston, and Vaughn Disher, as well as a great-grandson, Gustavius Baker. Family members, including Sandra Lee, will continue carrying her jubilant love in their lives.

Funeral service will be held at 10am on Friday, March 31 at Marker and Heller Funeral Home with Pastor Cecil Wright officiating. Family will receive friends for visitation at the Huber Heights Chapel, 5844 Old Troy Pike, on Thursday from 5-7pm. Interment will follow the service on Friday at Cedar Hill Cemetery on South Wolf Creek Pike in Trotwood. Following the events, a recording of the service and memorial comments will be published to

Carolyn will be dearly missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
