This Direct Trade Peaberry coffee from Papua New Guinea’s Waghi Valley is a great introduction to single origin coffees for “regular coffee drinkers”. It’s a light-medium roasted bean with a sweet smell and raising/chocolate tasting notes and a syrupy medium body that’s feels smooth.
In most coffee cherries around the world you’ll find two separate beans/seeds inside, but in a Peaberry you’ll only find one. This allows that single bean to absorb more of the sweet flavors of the cherry without being overwhelming or acidic. Roasting this to a light-medium level makes it a great drink for any coffee lover.
